About Philip Godfrey
Philip Godfrey is a senior at Arizona State University majoring
in Vocal Performance studying under the guiding hand of
Professor David Britton .
As a student in High School, he studied under Dr. Jeffery Stevens .
At the end of his sophomore year, Philip
attended the world famous music program “SongFest” at Colburn
School of Music located in Los Angles, California. In the summer
of 2017, he studied in Prague, Czech Republic and
participated in the “Prague Summer Nights”.
He studied under the direction of the world famous baritone Sherrill Milnes along with the globally recognized conductor Arthur Fagen, John Nardolillo and Joachim Schamberger. He was the understudy for the part Papageno in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Magic Flute. The complete opera was performed in the German language. This was the second time that he performed in this opera as it was also performed at Arizona State University in 2016.
Philip also performed in the world premiere Guadalupe on the campus of Arizona State University. He was also in the ASU Lyric Opera Theatre production of Cendrillon and Of Leto, an original work of Alexander Tom.
